The first vintage of Dom Perignon was only released in 1936, after the then unused mark called Dom Perignon together with the Abbey and vineyards of Hautvillers was bought from Mercier in 1930, as a prestige cuvée for export markets. It is made from a higher percentage of Chardonnay supported by Pinot Noir from the firm’s own vineyards on the Montague de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne.

The result is a beautifully balanced and elegant wine with its characteristic lively minerality and fully vibrant. A prestige Cuvée that is worth its price.

In the mouth, the wine immediately imposes its ample presence, full and massive. A sappy sensation dominates as the tactile is rapidly overtaken by the aromatic.
